I believe we are, more or less, on the same side of the Ilocano fence. Please check the proposed Ilocano alphabet at ilocano-samtoy.blogspot.com and the proposed content structure of an Ilocano Online website at ilocano-online.com (this is just a proposed outline, not the real McCoy yet) and let me know what you think, what your suggestions and/or corrections are. We need to help each other, else Ilocano the way we use to know it may eventually perish like a number of native American languages described by James Crawford in "Endangered Native American Languages: What Is to Be Done, and Why?"

my views on ortography and spelling is this:
let us write and write and write in whatever way we are comfortable with. Let us not waste our energies debating how to write our words. Those energies should be reserved for a latter time when the great battle against Tagalog imperialism would have been won.
In the end, the most widely accepted way in writing our words will win out from among the many proposals.
but if you force me...
I do not like to erase/lose the c, z, v, f and ch as what the nincompoop followers of Lope k santos had done.
yet if they must be lost, let the process be a metamorphosis and evolution or appropriation and not a forced maturity and imposition.
So let us write, write and write foreign words (Spanish and English) first in their original spellings and let them methamorphose naturally from the ilocano writer's pen. We shall not impose, for that is the very antithesis to a writer's freedom and being.
I might add: the metamorphosis may happen instantaneously if acceptance happens instantaneously. That is, if the transformation is easily reconizable from a habit or a pattern.
Example: How might I ilocanize the technical term "axle" as in a wheel? If there is an existing ilocano term for it, that term should be adopted. If not, then let us delve into borrowings.
So shall we have aksel, axle, eje or ehe?
The tagalistas will probably elect aksel, the nincompoops that they are.
Because im anti-tagalista and its good for the Ilocano language to be anti Tagalista, ill choose ehe, instantantly metamorphosing from eje (the spanish original).
so there, let as write and write and write. There is no debate.
But let us be different from the tagalogs as much as we can. and this difference must be balanced by wide acceptance among writers and readers.
